Biography

A passionate violinist and skilled performer, Miranda relishes in a varied music career playing violin across the UK. From romantic weddings to private functions, Miranda loves performing for an audience and showcasing her music.

Stemming from Surrey, Miranda started playing the violin at the age of 10 and was quickly won over by the instrument. She began teaching herself “that wobbly thing” (as her 10-year old self put it) and was playing with professional-level vibrato by age 11. By age 15, Miranda was leading her school Orchestra and this was shortly followed by her achieving a Distinction in her Grade 8 by age 17. Miranda then went on to read Music Performance at The London College of Music and earned herself a First Class Honours.

During her time at The London College of Music, Miranda stood as Principle Second Violin with The London College of Music Camerata. Since then, she has performed alongside ensembles and groups such as The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonia Orchestra, Guildford Symphony Orchestra, Windsor & Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra, Ealing Youth Symphony Orchestra, Goldsmith’s Choral Union, The London Oriana Choir, The West End Singers, The BBC Proms, Marzella, LA Underlined, Tarantola and AquaLuna.

Miranda has a wealth of performance experience at large-scale venues across the UK, including The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall and St John Smith’s Square. She has also performed for functions at venues including The London Museum of Water and Steam, The Oxo Tower, The October Gallery, The Regis Centre (Bognor Regis), G Live (Guildford), Guildford Cathedral, Charterhouse School (Godalming).

Miranda plays on a 19th Century German copy of a Giovanni Paolo Maggini violin which she calls ‘Delphine’, inspired by her love of the ocean and Greek mythology.
